Investigating the work- In this chapter we come to know about how business runs systematically and how it work.
Under this we have: -
Trawling the business - Trawling is a business of how fishing is done. It means catching a fish by a fishing net through the water orderly. This chapter describes some trawling process and direct us to get best. In order to discover the business, it is important to spend less time. As it is starting of analysis process, we would come through it as soon as possible. This chapter discuss the method of uncovering the business and its procedure.
Trawl for knowledge – In this we make different product which help us to do work and it doesn’t matter whether it contain processing insurance, controlling a telephone network, handling, photographs and many other human actions. The volere process show how to build best article or substance and get best result.
Trawling act uses product from project blastoff because of inquiring into work and collecting knowledge about it from stakeholders
The Business Analyst – It is also named as a system analyst, a requirement engineer, etc. The business analyst meets with a business stakeholder, figure out what they are saying and render that knowledge to the developer. The duty of business analyst is to notice and experience the work, to explain the work, record the data same as stakeholders.
This could be done with several different choice as one procedure would not work in every situation.
Trawling and business use cases – The business use cases are the business processing. The business events inquire us about the scope of work for each business use case that how outside happening produce a result in the work. It is done by any method that can be through telephone, but  the main thing is what is to be done.
Family Therapy – A type of psychotherapy designed to help stakeholders to apprehend several points of view and to make options crystal clear. In this therapy there are different varieties of ideas to do work successfully with cluster of people in union. Stakeholders listen ideas carefully and give reactions to help keep away from confusions.

    The chapter "Investigating the Work" gives the understanding of the business such as what the business is doing and what it might like to do. In this, we use the trawling to define the activity or the nature of the work of the business. The Business Analyst trawls for knowledge by investigating the customer's work and this activity is central to the requirements process. In this process. outputs of the project blastoff activity is used for investigating the work.
    The Brown Cow Model shows the four views of the work and this model is WHAT NOW, HOW NOW, FUTURE WHAT, FUTURE HOW. This model provides the useful information at different stages of the requirements discovery process to the Business Analyst and the stakeholder.

    This chapter outlines the many hats a Business Analyst wears or the many titles a Business Analyst may be known as (derivatives of the title), The important task for the Business Analyst, irrespective of the title, is to do as much as possible to study the business and how it functions. The technique of trawling is applied to conduct this in-depth study which would include strategies such as developing Prototypes (mock-ups of the intended solution), Brainstorming to generate new ideas, Apprenticing (to understudy an expert in the area) and Interviewing (detailed discussion and note-taking of the current business situation). Trawling gets the conversation going, the Business Analyst listening and his/ her mind ticking towards how best to help the company improve.

    Trawling the business - it is also important that you do not spend too much time doing so. Keep in mind that this is the beginning of the analysis process, and you would like to get through this step as rapidly as possible. Also keep in mind that the business you are studying is about to be changed. Given these caveats, we suggest that you study the current business
    as quickly as possible—you can always come back later to get additional information should it be necessary.
